Dot Foster is a filmmaker, playwright and poet based in London and Berlin. She graduated from the University of Oxford in 2023 with a first-class BA in English Language and Literature. She is the recipient of an Examination Prize (2023) and an Undergraduate Exhibition from Wadham College (2022-2023) for outstanding academic achievement. A theatre maker and performer from an early age, Dot’s recent work experiments with ‘film-poetry’, short, lyrical films that combine contemporary dance practices, spoken word and visual languages of domestic space, vulnerability and the natural world.
Her debut film as a cinematographer, Ana Nedeljkovic’s “Tezeta” won the Audience Award for Best Short Film in the University of Oxford Short Film Festival 2023, and her poetry has been published in RISE, Oxford Public Philosophy Journal, Free Verse Magazine, Poetry in Practice and The Oxford Blue’s ‘Creativity in Crisis’ writing collective.
Her play, ‘Sisyphus’ won Best Short Play at the Oxford New Writing Festival 2020.
